Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's primary schools are open to all children, regardless of where they live in the town, and parents are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the schools' activities. Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur is a single school district divided into school catchment areas, and a pupil's registered address determines which local school they are assigned to. It is possible to apply for a school in another area, and an application made before 1 February can be a deciding factor in whether a place at a school outside one's own catchment area can be offered.<\/p>\n<p paraid=\"966434976\" paraeid=\"{c7a603aa-c1e9-4e6f-b4a1-8ce30c3275d8}{204}\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/ibuagatt.hafnarfjordur.is\/OnePortal\/NewApplication.aspx?id=vB9_MmmkkUitOoXnmsggZQC\">Enrolment of children in primary school is the responsibility of parents\/guardians.<\/a>     <\/p>\n<p paraid=\"808446625\" paraeid=\"{c7a603aa-c1e9-4e6f-b4a1-8ce30c3275d8}{211}\">Registration is done online via MY PAGES under: <a href=\"https:\/\/ibuagatt.hafnarfjordur.is\/OnePortal\/NewApplication.aspx?id=vB9_MmmkkUitOoXnmsggZQC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Applications \u2013 Primary Schools \u2013 Primary School Admissions<\/a>. Please note that applications for Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's primary schools can only be submitted via the town's website.
