House Preservation Fund \u2013 grants for the maintenance and renovation of older houses<\/h4>\n

The City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur is inviting applications for grants from the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Building Preservation Fund. The fund's purpose is to promote the preservation and maintenance of older buildings in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, and it provides grants for maintenance and renovation. The fund is also authorised to provide grants for the maintenance and preservation of other structures in the town of cultural, scientific or artistic value, provided that the works are in accordance with the building's original architectural style and the principles of conservation.<\/p>\n

The application deadline is 28 February 2022.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Assessment of applications<\/h4>\n

Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's Culture and Tourism Committee awards grants
\nfrom the House Preservation Fund, following a report from the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Folk Museum. Applications are assessed in terms of their preservation value, e.g. for architectural, cultural-historical, environmental, and authenticity reasons, as well as their technical condition, and their value for the preservation of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's architectural heritage. Priority will be given to funding works that restore the external appearance of buildings, such as windows and cladding, to its original state. Applications for works that constitute routine maintenance are generally not eligible for a grant.<\/p>\n
