New neighbourhoods will be created and older neighbourhoods will become larger.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur has launched a new information page about
\nthe development that is taking place in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and will take place in
\nnear future. The development during the period 2017-2040 is highlighted with
\nwith an emphasis on the years 2021-2031. The summary is based on the approved plan for
\nHafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur as the situation is at the beginning of 2022 and does not include densification and
\nnewer neighbourhoods that are still at the concept stage.<\/p>\n

The development will provide around 7,000 homes for approximately 17,000 residents.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

When planning for population, the standard assumption is 2.5 inhabitants per
\nfor each flat. If all areas that are already in the planning system are within Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur
\n(new neighbourhoods and urban densification) the estimated number of new

New neighbourhoods with around 2,700 homes and 6,750 residents.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Development plots and blocks of flats in Hamranes in
\nIn Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, a total of around 1,600 flats sold quickly.
\nin the years 2020-2021. The first spadeful of earth at Hamranes was taken in
\nFebruary 2021 and development is in full swing. The last detached house plots in
\nSkar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0, for a total of 285 flats, was allocated in February 2021. In
\nAlso rising on Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0 are 26 blocks of flats with 231 apartments. Indigenous people in
\nThe Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0ar neighbourhood moved in during the summer of 2020 and now it looks as though the indigenous people
\nin Hamranes, moving in this year. The first plots in \u00c1sland 4 will be allocated
\nin the spring months. These three new neighbourhoods in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur will, in the long term
\nhouse around 2,700 flats and 6,750 residents.<\/p>\n

Urban densification with around 4,000 homes and 10,000 residents<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur municipality has already approved a plan for
\ndensification and development of larger and smaller areas within Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. New
\nHousing is being created through denser development, better use of infrastructure and
\nunderutilised areas. The largest densification areas are the Flensburg Harbour\/Oseyr area and
\nHraun West\/5-minute neighbourhood where construction is expected to begin
\nduring the year. In these areas, an approved framework plan is in place and it is envisaged
\nthat the development and densification of the built-up area will take place in phases over the next 10-15 years.
\nWork on the detailed plan will take place in parallel.<\/p>\n

Residents and other interested parties are encouraged to familiarise themselves with them.
