At the same time, the new strategy involves a holistic approach to the implementation of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. A single, clear vision for the municipality is supported by nine key objectives in areas that often cross departmental boundaries.\u00a0The key objectives are: well-being for residents, physical activity and health, a thriving economy, vibrant communities, an environmentally friendly society, a vibrant cultural life, education for all, meaningful participation and efficient services. Each key objective provides a foundation for the selection of specific priorities for several years at a time, thereby contributing to long-term improvements and positive changes.<\/p>\n Ambitious work by a steering group, which was appointed with representatives from all parties, and extensive consultation for residents, businesses, staff and other stakeholders, is the formulation of 43 priorities for Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, and the next stage is further work on setting objectives and developing short-term action plans.
