Improved traffic flow and<br \/>\nTraffic safety on the section from L\u00e6kjargata to \u00c1lftanesvegur is the responsibility of<br \/>\nThe Capital Region Transport Agreement and the adopted agreements decided that<br \/>\nallocate 13.1 million to the project for the years 2025-2028. It was originally intended to<br \/>\nthe amount would be just over 5 million, but the local authorities in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur managed to push through<br \/>\nSignificant changes to the amount. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/reykjanesbrautkaplisetberg.jpg\" alt=\"Reykjanesbraut, Kapli, Setberg\" href=\"\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1243px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1243\/529;\"><sup>This concerns this section of the Reykjanesbraut \u2013 from the roundabout at L\u00e6kjargata to the roundabout at Kaplakrika. .<\/sup><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Solutions in draft form <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Road Administration is considering solutions with<br \/>\nReykjanesbraut in its current configuration (2 variants) and a tunnel underneath.<br \/>\nSetberg Hammer (2 versions). <\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Reykjanesbraut<br \/>\n     in its present form.<br \/>\n<\/strong>     Reykjanesbraut was dug down from \u00c1lftanesvegur and south of L\u00e6kjargata.<br \/>\n     Reykjanesbraut goes under the junctions with \u00c1lftanesveg, Fjar\u00f0arhraun and<br \/>\n     L\u00e6kjargata. Cost approx. 9.1 million kr\u00f3na.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reykjanesbraut in its current layout. <\/strong>Reykjanesbraut in<br \/>\n     current elevation profile. Connections to Fjar\u00f0arhraun and L\u00e6kjargata below<br \/>\n     Reykjanesbraut. Cost around 5.5\u20135.9 million kr\u00f3na.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tunnels. <\/strong>Tunnels from the Reykjanesbraut at Sta\u00f0arberg to IKEA. To<br \/>\n     Otherwise, the Reykjanesbrautin would remain largely unchanged. Cost: approximately 17.4 million kr\u00f3na.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tunnels<br \/>\n     with connecting tunnels. <\/strong> Tunnels<br \/>\n     from the Reykjanesbraut at Sta\u00f0arberg to IKEA, including a connecting link to \u00c1lftanesveg.<br \/>\n     Cost of approximately 22.4 million kr\u00f3na.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>All four implementations are profitable projects and are<br \/>\nIt is expected that both structures will open in 2034. The surface solution will take two years.<br \/>\nUnderway, but the tunnels will take 3 years. Various things need to be looked into before work on the preliminary designs can begin.<br \/>\nconcludes.
