Singing Festival at Hafnarborg<\/strong> will be held for the sixth time on 18 June\u201310 July 2022<\/strong>. The festival is dedicated to classical music, poetry, opera and choral singing. The festival's aim is to honour classical vocal music and to increase public awareness of the art of the voice through concerts and courses.<\/p>\n

This year's Singing Festival at Hafnarborg will feature eight concerts with outstanding singers and musicians, as well as a variety of courses for children and adults, for amateurs and professionals alike. The founders and directors of the Song Festival are mezzo-soprano Gu\u00f0r\u00fan J\u00f3hanna \u00d3lafsd\u00f3ttir and guitarist Francisco Javier J\u00e1uregui. \nMasterclass student concert.<\/strong> Students on a masterclass course
\nThe Didd\u00faas perform songs and arias. Helga Brynd\u00eds Magn\u00fasd\u00f3ttir accompanies on the piano. <\/p>\n

24.6. 17:00 \u2013 Family concert. <\/strong>John
\nSvavar J\u00f3sefsson, baritone, and Kristj\u00e1n Hrannar P\u00e1lsson, pianist, perform
\na lively programme. Children from the music and art courses will also be performing.<\/p>\n

25.6. 17:00 \u2013 Opera gala. <\/strong>Alexander
\nJarl \u00deorsteinsson, tenor; Bjarni Thor Kristinsson, bass; Eyr\u00fan Unnarsd\u00f3ttir
\nsoprano, Krist\u00edn Sveinsd\u00f3ttir mezzo-soprano and Hr\u00f6nn \u00der\u00e1insd\u00f3ttir pianist
\nperform arias and ensemble pieces from various beloved operas.<\/p>\n

\nSonor Ensemble<\/strong> (string quintet and piano) which is composed
\nMusicians from the Spanish Symphony Orchestra perform Spanish and Portuguese
\nMusic. Gu\u00f0r\u00fan J\u00f3hanna \u00d3lafsd\u00f3ttir, mezzo-soprano, and Francisco Javier J\u00e1uregui
\nGuitarists perform under the direction of Luis Aguirre at concerts inspired by
\nof Magellan and Elcano's first circumnavigation 500 years ago.<\/p>\n

All the concerts take place in the main hall.
