WORLD PREMIERE STRING QUARTET \u2013 \u201cHometown\u201d \u00daLFUR \u00de\u00d3RARINSSON<\/strong><\/p>\n

Violinist \u00dalfur \u00de\u00f3rarinsson, a member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra, is composing his debut work this summer, which bears the working title \u201cHometown<\/strong>\u201dThe work is a string quartet in 4 movements, all of which are named after places or parts of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.\u00a0<\/p>\n\"IMG_2221\"\n

\u00dalfur will perform the work with the quartet in The Old Pharmacy in Hafnarborg on 18 August<\/strong>. But the quartet now bears the name \u201eOh, that's so.\u00a0 <\/strong>The concert will be advertised on Facebook closer to the date.\u00a0<\/p>\n

About Creative Summer Jobs 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the summer of 2021, the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, in collaboration with the city's youth centre, Hamarinn, decided to revive the \u201cCreative Summer Jobs\u201d project, which had been run in the summer of 2017. Individuals and groups aged 18-20 were also invited to submit ideas for creative projects in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. Selected groups were given the opportunity to work on various creative projects in different areas of the arts, which would also enliven the town's social life and delight tourists and residents in one way or another. The staff of Creative Summer Jobs, run as part of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Summer School, are tasked with bringing the town to life, making it more fun, beautiful and diverse with artistic and creative events. The projects are varied and appeal to different age groups and interests. Klara \u00d3sk El\u00edasd\u00f3ttir is the project manager for Creative Summer Jobs.<\/p>\n
