According to information from the Icelandic Meteorological Institute, lava is flowing in Geldingadalur, a short distance north-east of the crater that lasted the longest last year. Based on the information currently available, infrastructure is not in danger, but the public are kindly asked to keep away from the area and to be mindful of the danger from potential gas contamination.
