We are looking for a progressive Manager of Consultancy and Analysis Services.
The Office of the Directorate for Education and Public Health works proactively to create a comprehensive service that supports children, young people and their families. The emphasis is on integrated services and a multidisciplinary approach, where professionals work together for the well-being of children. The M&L service covers all services for children in Hafnarfjörður and plays a key role in ensuring that children and young people receive early support, appropriate resources and professional follow-up. The Head of Department works to strengthen and develop services in line with the needs of the community and the policies of Hafnarfjörður on education and the well-being of children.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Leads and manages the advisory and analytical services of the Hafnarfjörður school service and has overall supervision of it.
- Articulates a vision, supports development and ensures a coordinated approach in line with integrated services for the well-being of children and young people.
- Day-to-day management, along with guidance and support in case handling.
- Has oversight of the department's operations, finances and personnel. Proposes the budget, approves accounts and ensures responsible management.
- Ensures professional case recording and follow-up in accordance with the council's procedures.
- Allocates cases, monitors overall waiting lists and has oversight of the assessment and case management process for children and young people.
- Takes the initiative in solution-focused development of services and innovation for the benefit of children's well-being.

Educational and competency requirements:
- B.A./B.S. in Psychology
- M.A./M.S. in Clinical Psychology or a Cand.psych. with a licence to practise as a psychologist
- Further education in management is an advantage.
- An additional diploma in child welfare is an advantage.
- Extensive experience in management and personnel management
- Experience of working with children and families
- Experience of teamwork
- Experience in public administration is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Initiative, independence and strong organisational skills
- Knowledge of laws and resources concerning children's affairs

The salary is in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Association of Icelandic Local Authorities and the Icelandic Psychological Association.
