Hafnarfjörður is looking to hire a capable member of staff for a rewarding role providing services in a home for people with disabilities. The work is based on the philosophy of supported living, with a focus on ensuring residents are as comfortable as possible.
An exciting and enjoyable role with a variety of tasks in a shift pattern. This is a 30/1 TP3T role, working one weekend in every two on day and evening shifts, with the possibility of increased hours over the summer.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Providing service users with support with activities of daily living
- Adhere to service plans and procedures
- Encourage residents to participate in the community and in leisure activities.
- Have fun at work and be a role model for others
- Doing the housework
- Communication with various service providers
- Other duties as described in the job description
Educational and competency requirements:
- Experience in a similar role is desirable.
- Interest in the affairs of disabled people
- Knowledge of Icelandic is a requirement.
- Service-mindedness and positivity at work
- Interpersonal skills
- Good computer skills
- Driving licence a condition
- Access to a vehicle is a condition
- Independent working methods and flexibility in work
- Physical ability to carry out tasks in the workplace
It is desirable to be 20 years of age, but a clean criminal record is a requirement.
