21 staff members receive recognition for 25 years of service
21 staff members were recently recognised for 25 years of service. The combined service of this fantastic group totals 525 years. The staff have dedicated these years with enthusiasm, professionalism and expertise to a wide variety of roles across the council's sites.
525 years of combined service!
21 employees have been recognised for their quarter-century of service to the City of Hafnarfjörður. Mayor Rósa Guðbjartsdóttir gave them a warm welcome to Hafnarborg and to a coffee reception, where she thanked them.
Recognition has been given to all those who have worked for the town for 25 and 15 years, and the staff have received a token of appreciation for their professional contribution and service to the town. Recognition for 15 years' service is awarded at each workplace, but those celebrating 25 years of service with the municipality are invited to a celebration at Hafnarborg for the occasion.
Rósa thanked each and every one with beautiful words. You could hear:

„…has always been very ambitious in their work and very keen for all children to feel at ease on the school playground during break time.“
„…she is dependable, she is robust, she is cheerful with an infectious laugh.“
„She is warm and loving, and we are lucky to enjoy her company every day.“
„An excellent, conscientious, reliable and highly tech-savvy employee. Always the first to arrive at work in the morning, long before the start of the working day.“
„…exceptionally skilled at meeting the different needs of children. It's always nice to bump into the same people at coffee time.“
„…is certainly very loyal to her workplace, she's energetic, determined, cheerful and a fantastic competitor, being a great handball player for FH; she hardly ever misses a match!!“
The awards were presented on Thursday, 14th November. The combined service of this fantastic group is 525 years. The staff have dedicated these years with enthusiasm, professionalism and expertise to a wide variety of roles across the council's sites.
The awards ceremony is an essential part of the harvest of success and achievement within the town's staff.
