40 new charging stations in Hafnarfjörður
Electric cars can now be charged at all the town's swimming pools, a number of primary schools and institutions. The Municipality of Hafnarfjörður has signed a five-year agreement with Ísorka for 40 charging stations.
Electric charging for the future
Forty new charging points for electric vehicles have been installed across Hafnarfjörður. The municipality of Hafnarfjörður signed a five-year contract with Ísorka following a tender for the seventeen locations.
The charging points are at all three of the town's swimming pools, several primary schools and institutions. Two to four cars can be charged simultaneously at each location.
Increased services in Hafnarfjörður
Mayor Valdimar Víðisson says that increased services matter to the people of Hafnarfjörður. „The main goal is to increase the accessibility of charging for electric vehicle owners and the overarching goal is to support the energy transition. We want to enable more people to own electric cars and charge them throughout the town,“ he says.
Salóme Guðmundsdóttir, Managing Director of Ísora, says Ísora's charging network stretches across the country. „We have around 4,300 stations across the country and over 55,000 active users. We are extremely pleased to be able to offer these forty additional stations to the people of Hafnarfjörður, as we believe that electricity is the future.“
The stations are open to all electric vehicles. Payment is made according to the Ísorka tariff. Ísorka has an app that shows all locations precisely and offers a 24/7 service for users.
We celebrate this and enjoy the energy!
