Summer job at a home for people with disabilities – Steinahlíð
Hafnarfjörður is seeking ambitious and enthusiastic staff for summer relief positions at a home for people with disabilities. We work according to the Servant-Leadership philosophy, with a focus on ensuring residents feel comfortable in a safe and pleasant home environment.
An exciting and enjoyable role with a variety of tasks on a shift pattern. The successful candidate must be able to work weekends, mornings, evenings and nights. 60%-90% or by arrangement.
Key responsibilities and duties:
· Providing residents with support with activities of daily living
· Have fun at work, be a role model for others and show initiative.
· Adhere to service plans and procedures
· Support residents to participate in the community and in leisure activities.
· General household chores
· Communication with various service providers
· Other tasks as per the job description and as assigned by a superior.
Educational and competency requirements:
· Experience in similar roles is desirable.
· Service-mindedness and positivity at work
· Interpersonal skills
· Knowledge of Icelandic is a requirement, A2 language level. ETM Self-Assessment Framework (coe.int)
· Entrepreneurialism and conscientiousness
· Independent working methods and flexibility in work
· Driving test
· Physical ability to carry out tasks in the workplace
It is desirable that the person is 20 years of age or older, and a clean criminal record is a prerequisite.

Salary in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Federation of Icelandic Municipalities and the Hafnarfjörður Staff Association.
