Hafnarfjörður is looking to hire cheerful and enthusiastic staff for a short-term stay for children with disabilities. The successful candidate must be able to work mornings, evenings, nights and weekends. We are looking for staff for a temporary summer position. We are seeking staff who can start work around 1 June. The job percentage is by arrangement.

Short-term care is for disabled children and young people, and the length of their stay varies. The purpose of short-term care is to provide support to children and their families. During their stay, the children and young people receive help with their daily tasks, and enjoy care and recreational activities.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Assisting disabled children with activities of daily living and care
- Organise activities and engage children and young people in various leisure activities.
- Communication with parents
- General household chores
- Other tasks as per the job description
Competency requirements:
- Experience in a similar role is an advantage.
- A sincere interest in the affairs of disabled children
- Important qualities are flexibility, conscientiousness, tact and a positive attitude.
- Imagination
- Interpersonal skills
- Icelandic proficiency A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
- The job requires good physical fitness.
The condition is that the person has reached the age of 20 and has a clean criminal record.
