Hafnarfjörður is seeking to hire an occupational therapist for a short-term stay for disabled young people, located in the Setbergshverfi district. The successful candidate will be required to start on 15 May or by arrangement.
The job share is 80-90% and the work is in shifts; the successful candidate must be able to work mornings, evenings and weekends. The work is carried out according to a set philosophy. Servant leadership.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Implements the role and objectives of the post
- Responsible for planning, coordination, budgeting, reporting, information dissemination, advice, education and communication with other organisations.
- To promote the functionality, welfare and well-being of service users, to strive to increase the quality of life and independence of disabled people and to promote their empowerment.
- Implement and monitor service plans as well as the work plan.
- Other tasks as per the job description and as assigned by a superior.
Educational and competency requirements:
- Occupational therapist education and professional licence as an occupational therapist.
- Experience of organising professional work in the field of occupational therapy is desirable.
- Collaboration and organisational skills
- Initiative, conscientiousness, interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and a strong service-mindedness
- Physical ability to carry out tasks in the workplace
- Knowledge of Icelandic is a requirement, A2 language level. ETM Self-Assessment Framework (coe.int)
