Actor Stefán Karl Stefánsson planted a tree in Hellisgerði last week in a low-key ceremony with his immediate family. The occasion and the lead-up was that after the premiere of „With a Pocket Full of Stones“ at the National Theatre recently, the National Theatre's director, Ari Matthíasson, gave Stefán a tree instead of a bouquet of flowers, as is customary. Ari informed Stefán that the tree was to be planted in Hellisgerði, a location chosen in consultation with the Head Gardener of Hafnarfjörður municipality, and an ceremony was subsequently arranged for last week.
Accompanying Stefán in Hellisgerði on this occasion were his mother, Hulda Karen Ólafsdóttir; his wife, Steinunn Ólína Þorsteinsdóttir; his sister and other close relatives; and Ari, the Director of the National Theatre. The Gardener for the City of Hafnarfjörður, Ingibjörg Sigurðardóttir, was a source of support for Stefán.
