Construction works on Kaldárselsveg
Construction work has begun on the renewal of Kaldársel Road, including the creation of pedestrian and cycle paths and landscaping of the surrounding area. The project includes the reconstruction of the road from Reykjanesbraut to Elliðavatnsvegur, the construction of two roundabouts, and connections to Brekkuás.,
Work has begun on the renewal of Kaldársel Road, including the construction of footpaths and cycle paths, and landscaping of the surrounding area. The project includes the reconstruction of the road from Reykjanesbraut to Elliðavatnsveg, the construction of two roundabouts, connections to Brekkuás, Klettahlíð and Elliðavatnsveg, as well as new green areas and hedges. The project will also involve relocating utility pipelines for Hafnarfjörður Waterworks, HS Veitur, and Míla.
The work will be carried out by the contractor Háfell ehf. The roadworks are scheduled to be largely completed this autumn, with the laying of the lower asphalt layer due to be finished on 30 September this year. The final completion of the works is scheduled for 1 June 2019.
