Kaldárselsvegur – closures due to roadworks on 6 May
The plan is to tarmac the section of Kaldárselsveg between the roundabouts, from Sörlatorg to the new roundabout at Brekkuás/Klettahlíð. Klettahlíð will also be closed, along with the stretch of road between the new roundabouts. From the new roundabout at Brekkuás/Klettahlíð to the new roundabout at Elliðavatnsveg.
Due to upcoming asphalting works on Kaldárselsveg, there will be disruption to traffic in the area due to closures of road sections as marked on the overview map. Traffic disruption due to the closures will affect the following streets, although at different times:
- Kaldárselsvegur
- Elliðavatnsvegur
- Brekkuás
- Rocky slope
Second closure – Monday, 6th May
The plan is to resurface the section of Kaldárselsveg between the roundabouts, from Sörlatorg to the new roundabout at Brekkuás/Klettahlíð. Klettahlíð will also be closed, along with the stretch of road between the new roundabouts. From the new roundabout at Brekkuás/Klettahlíð to the new roundabout at Elliðavatnsveg. However, that roundabout will not be closed. Signage will be put up in the area. The road is expected to be reopened to traffic between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on the evening of Monday, 6th May.

The construction site will not be closed in its entirety at the same time, but further information about the phased closures will be announced closer to the time of the works.
