Happy summer!

The staff of Hafnarfjörður wish the residents and friends of Hafnarfjörður a happy summer, and thank them for an incredible and unusual winter! 

This year we're celebrating summer with a different format. We have put together A whole alphabet of ideas for something exciting and fun for the whole family to do. at home or in the local area in the coming weeks. Both now during lockdown and quarantine, when it is important to take good care of yourself and others, and also throughout the summer.  

For many years, the Hraunbúar Scout Group has organised a parade and family programme, and the FH athletics department has organised a cross-country run in Hafnarfjörður on the first of May, but unfortunately, such celebrations cannot take place this time. The Scouts are tackling the situation with cheerfulness and curiosity as their weapons and encourage the townspeople to solve fun scout projects that they call #stuðkví which can be done at home or in the garden while this situation lasts.
