Pre-school activities as of 4 May. On Monday 4 May, normal pre-school activities will resume in the pre-schools of Hafnarfjörður, as they were before the lockdown. All children will then attend their own pre-school during their usual hours.

On Monday, 4th May, normal nursery school operations will resume in the nurseries of Hafnarfjörður, as they were before the lockdown. All children will then attend their nursery school during normal opening hours.

Everyone must observe the 2-metre social distancing rule on the nursery premises.

What parents need to note in particular is that adult access to the nurseries will be restricted, and we ask parents to Observe the 2-metre social distancing rule. when picking up the children. It is customary to hold Summer festival and graduation ceremony in May/June in the nurseries, but further information is provided by the headteachers of each school. Traditional school services will also resume., e.g. teamwork, assessment and advice from psychologists, speech and language therapists and special educational needs advisers, and other services as appropriate. Workday will be held in all nurseries in Hafnarfjörður on 29th May. The exception is the nursery Hlíðarendi, whose open day will be on 20th May, as their day will be on 29th May.

With these changes now coming into effect, it is vital that everyone plays an active part in maintaining the success achieved in stopping the coronavirus pandemic. We thank you for your positivity towards the restrictions that had to be put in place for school activities in March, and we now hope that this transition to normal school activities will be a success.

Pre-school activities as of 4 May

Normal pre-school operations, as they were before the ban on gatherings, will resume in Hafnarfjörður on 4 May. All children will attend their pre-school according to their normal schedule.

Regarding parents, adult access to the preschools will be limited, and we therefore ask parents to respect the two-metre distancing rule when collecting their children. The preschools normally hold a summer and graduation festival in May/June. The headteachers of each preschool will be sending out a notification of the arrangements in the near future.

A staff planning day will be held in all the pre-schools in Hafnarfjörður on 29 May 2020, with the exception of the Hlíðarendi pre-school, which will hold its planning day on 20 May and will be open on 29 May. Normal school services, such as team-based approaches, diagnoses and the services of psychologists, speech therapists and special education consultants, etc., will also be resumed as appropriate.

With the changes now coming into effect, it is important that everyone takes an active part in maintaining the good results that have been achieved in halting the coronavirus pandemic. We thank you for your understanding and positive outlook regarding the limits that needed to be set in March and hope that the return to normal pre-school operations will continue in the future.
