Increasing resources for people with dementia

The Municipality of Hafnarfjörður and Sóltún Elderly Care Services Ltd. signed
Today a contract was signed for the operation of a specialised day care service at Sólvangur. The contract takes
for the operation of twelve specialised day care places at Sólvangur and has the aim
to ensure older people with dementia receive specific services and support
to their carers by operating a specialised day care service.

Sóltún Elderly Care Services is today the operator of a nursing home.

Solvangi. A magnificent new 60-bed care home was officially opened on 17 July 2019. and thereby replaced the old Sólvang. At the same time, a decision was made
to increase the number of nursing home places at Sólvang, in addition to the 60 places that are in
the new building and to begin work on the old one and carry out significant refurbishments
Solvangi. 

The agreement was approved by the town council on 9 December.
