A section for personal accounts and ideas on accessibility issues in the municipality has been created on the 'Better Hafnarfjörður' consultation website. Formulation of a comprehensive accessibility policy

Accessibility issues concern all areas of society and cover a broad spectrum, from access to buildings and public spaces to access to information and services from the local council. Ideas and case studies received on Betri Hafnarfirði will be used by the group to shape the strategy and propose an implementation plan. The working group is composed of representatives from staff and elected officials, as well as Egill Fjeldsted from the Advisory Council. The council is tasked with safeguarding the interests of disabled people and advising the town council on these matters. Ágúst Bjarni Garðarsson, Chairman of the Municipal Council, is the chair of the working group.

The Better Hafnarfjörður area will be open this summer for suggestions. but the working group plans to submit a proposal for a policy and an implementation plan next September.
