Let's support Icelandic tourism 

All individuals aged 18 and over have received a Travel Gift worth 5,000 kr from the government. The gift is part of a government initiative to support the Icelandic tourism industry following the coronavirus pandemic. The 2021 travel gift is valid from its date of issue until 30 September.

Numerous businesses in Hafnarfjörður are accepting the travel gift.

First, you need to collect the Travel Gift by logging in to Iceland.is. To redeem the gift, the Ferðagjöf app is downloaded from the App Store or Play Store and the barcode is scanned when purchasing a service. Alternatively, the Ferðagjöf can be redeemed directly on Ísland.is for those without a smartphone.

Note that since Free admission is doing Hafnarfjörður Museum of Local History and the cultural and arts centre Hafnarborg the museums are not registered as recipients of the Travel Gift.

When the search results are displayed, you can choose to view specifically „Tourist Board Businesses“. You can narrow the search by specific geographical areas.
