A message to parents and guardians 

An orange weather warning is in effect from 13:30 to 17:00 today, Tuesday 21 September 2021. More on the website of the Icelandic Meteorological Institute

Guardians must assess for themselves whether children need to be accompanied home from school or after-school activities. During an orange weather warning, there is a greater need to accompany children home from school. It is worth bearing in mind that it can often be windy in higher areas. If the weather includes icy or snowy conditions, the likelihood of needing an escort increases. It is important for guardians to bear in mind that disruption may also affect after-school activities and organised training sessions at the end of the school day, and to be prepared to collect children from school and these activities should the need arise.
