75% of the authorised maximum number in the swimming pool

From Saturday, 13 November, all swimming pools in the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður will admit 75% of their authorised maximum capacity according to their operating licence. Children born in 2016 or later are not included. The measure is in line with a new regulation on stricter Covid-19 measures, which comes into effect at midnight and is valid until 8 December.

From Saturday, 13 November, all swimming pools in the City of Hafnarfjörður will admit 75% of the authorised maximum number of people according to their operating licence. Children born in 2016 or later are not included. Is the implementation in accordance with the new regulation on tightened measures due to Covid-19, which comes into force at midnight and is valid until and including 8 December.

Swimming pool visitors are asked to follow all public health regulations and observe a 1-metre social distancing rule. Please note that Ásvallalaug is closed on 12-14 November due to a swimming competition. 

Temporary closure if maximum capacity is reached

At each swimming venue, the number of people in the pools will be counted to ensure that the number in each space does not exceed the calculated maximum, based on the size of the venue and the government department's decision on the maximum number of individuals in the same space at any one time. Temporary closure of the pool and possibly certain areas will take place if the maximum number of guests is reached. Children born in 2016 and later are not included in the guest count.
