Owls and Harvest Festival at Hvaleyrarskóli
The month of December was well utilised in the town's primary schools, both in preparing for the arrival of Christmas and for the future, just like any other day of the year. For example, the pupils in the youngest year group at Hvaleyrarskóli ran a reading campaign with an owl theme. It was a particularly fun and visual project that proved very popular.

Owls and Harvest Festival
Pupils read both at home and at school, recording the pages and minutes each time. To make reading more fun, pupils coloured in Tetris blocks in their reading booklet. In the school corridor, the pupils then created a mosaic of an owl, where each pupil could stick a small sticker onto the artwork according to their reading minutes. At the end, there was a celebration where the pupils were treated to a chocolate cake after their lunch.
Really well done!
