The Bright Days 2022 are about to begin.

News

Do you have an idea for the programme of Bright Days? The cultural festival begins on 20 April and runs until summer.

The Bright Days are coming, a cultural festival that reflects all the diverse cultural activities taking place in Hafnarfjörður, organised by institutions, voluntary organisations, businesses and individuals. The Bright Days begin with the first town festival of the summer, from 20th to 24th April. The festival has coincided with the first day of summer in recent years but, as in the last two years, will run for longer and serve as the centrepiece of a diverse range of cultural events this summer. Events that encourage residents to take an active part and enjoy quality time together.

Summer takes over from winter on Bright Days

The festival begins on the last day of winter with a summer song by the students, the selection of Hafnarfjörður's town artist, the presentation of cultural grants and the HEIMA music festival, a unique music festival that takes place in private homes in the centre of Hafnarfjörður. On the first of May, there will be birdwatching at Hvaleyrarvatn, a cross-country run in the centre of Hafnarfjörður, and a Scout programme at Thorsplani.

Would you like to register an event for participation?

Hafnarfjörður is responsible for the overall planning and coordination of events, publishes the programme, and promotes the festival.
