First phase of the North Shore's refurbishment completed
Work on the North Quay area has been underway for just over a year. The works began in early 2021 with the construction of a rock armour on the North Quay, followed by the installation of rock armour on the North Breakwater. The reconstruction of the North Quay began in autumn 2021, and the surfacing of the North Quay is now nearing completion. This milestone was celebrated in the fine weather today, where project managers, councillors, the mayor and staff came together, walked along the bank, viewed the results and discussed the future of the area.
The North Shore will be one of Hafnarfjörður's natural gems for the future.
