Increased advisory services available for senior citizens at Hraunseli
A new initiative has been introduced in the service for senior citizens in Hafnarfjörður, offering regular drop-in sessions for social and legal advice at Hraunsel, Flatahraun 3, where a diverse range of social activities for older people is run. The primary aim of the project is to enhance services for older people and make it easier for them to access information. A social worker has been available at Hafnarfjörður Town Hall, but the service of a lawyer has now been added. This is a new development in services for older people, and this additional service is in line with other projects and the focus on bringing services closer to residents.

A new initiative has been introduced in the service for senior citizens in Hafnarfjörður, offering regular open sessions for social and legal advice. Hraunseli, Flatahrauni 3 , where a diverse social programme for senior citizens is run. The primary aim of the project is to enhance services for senior citizens and make it easier for them to access information. Social workers have been available at Hafnarfjörður Town Hall, but a lawyer's service has now been added. This is a new development in services for older people, and this additional service is in line with other projects and the focus on bringing services closer to residents.

Social work and legal advice are now available to senior citizens at Hraunsel. Hraunsel runs a diverse social programme for all residents aged 60 and over.
Response to the call from senior citizens for increased services in the local area
The Association of Older Citizens in Hafnarfjörður held a conference on 10th March regarding housing options and services for older people in the municipality. There, discussions took place and a call was made for increased tailored advice and information for older people in Hafnarfjörður. In response to this, in consultation with the Elderly Council and the project manager of Hraunsel, a decision was made for a social worker specialising in the affairs of older people and a lawyer to hold open, regular consultation hours at Hraunsel, free of charge for senior citizens. Cooperation between the Elders' Council and Association of Senior Citizens in Hafnarfjörður has been particularly proactive, resulting in the implementation of a number of successful projects.

Advice will be available on Tuesdays from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. Social work advice is available every other Tuesday, and legal advice on the alternate Tuesdays. The telephone number at Hraunsel is: 555-0142. Here you can see Herdís Hjöreifsdóttir and Erna Aradóttir.
