Nominations for the Icelandic Education Awards by 1 June

The aim of the awards is to enhance the standing of educational improvement and to raise public awareness of ambitious and high-quality school and leisure activities for children and young people. One award is given for outstanding school and leisure activities, one for an outstanding teacher, and one for an outstanding development project, in addition to special encouragement awards.

Nominations for the 2022 Icelandic Education Awards must be received by 1 June.

One award is given for outstanding school and leisure activities, one for an outstanding teacher, and one for an outstanding development project, in addition to special encouragement awards.

Please note that this year a new award category is being added: Excellent vocational or technical education, one award presented to a teacher, curriculum developer, school or educational institution for outstanding work, project or contribution to vocational or technical education. This new category has been established at the initiative of the Federation of Industry, which has now joined the partners sponsoring the awards.

Nominations must be received by 1st June. The Recognition Council selects three to five nominations in each category to be announced on the International Day of the Teacher, 5th October. The awards will be presented at a ceremony in November, which will be broadcast by RÚV.
