Beauty Pageant 2022 – point out the one you think is the best
The City of Hafnarfjörður is seeking nominations from residents and interested parties for awards for beautiful and well-maintained gardens, streets, open spaces or institutional grounds in Hafnarfjörður. The selection for the awards is based in part on submitted nominations, and residents, visitors, staff of businesses and organisations in Hafnarfjörður, and other interested parties are encouraged to nominate the person they consider to be the best.

People and businesses to emulate – awards presented at the end of summer
The awards are intended to set a standard of excellence in the tidiness and presentation of grounds and gardens, in both residential and commercial areas. Through this initiative, the City of Hafnarfjörður aims to raise public interest in beautiful trees, the beautification of the local environment, and to draw attention to those who serve as an example in this field in Hafnarfjörður, thereby encouraging others to take similar action. It is important that residents and businesses are encouraged and rewarded for good upkeep and a tidy environment. Honour awards are then presented to those businesses and institutions that play a major role in the Hafnarfjörður community. The Carmelite Monastery, Krýsuvík Church, Hafnarfjörður Cemetery, the Hafnarfjörður Forestry Association and the Keilir Golf Club are examples of organisations that have received the Snyrtileikinn honour in recent years.
Awards presented at the end of the summer
The 2022 awards will be presented at a ceremony at Thella Nursery on Kaldárselsveg at the end of the summer. The deadline for submitting nominations is 21 August 2022.
