Strandgate Film Festival tonight at Bæjarbíó

The brightest stars of the solar system will gather at the Bæjarbíó in Hafnarfjörður tonight at 8 p.m. to compete for one of the world's most prestigious film awards at a film festival that is a reality in a virtual reality.

Pictures that no one has seen, played by stars that no one knows.

Festival organisers are rolling out the red carpet and lighting up the entrance to the Town Cinema for the evening. The Strandgate Film Festival is an interesting approach and a middle ground between theatre and performance, created by young artists in Creative Summer Jobs of Hafnarfjörður 2022. To Berglind, Kolbeinn, Katla and Birta. Cinematographer and editor Ágúst Örn Börgesson Wigum joined the team at a later stage, who in recent weeks have taken on a variety of roles including actors, presenters, technicians, photographers and directors. The group has striven to create a festival that captures the spirit of film festivals from around the world and, at the beginning of the summer, received a cultural grant from the town council.

In the foyer, guests are greeted by posters for the festival's biggest films: The Widow, The Revenger 4: The Revenger's Final Revenge, Blesi & The Lesbian, the period drama The Mother of All Evils, and the Norwegian blockbuster I Am Called Lina. The films are fictional, as is the festival itself, but the festival takes place in the real world. Actors take on the roles of superstars and, through trailers, will make fun of clichéd films that often show people's grey reality.

The performance is a sixty-minute evening's entertainment taking place at the Bæjarbíó tonight at 8 p.m. A few seats are still available, and anyone interested is encouraged to attend in case of any last-minute cancellations.
