      Ágústa Bárðardóttir, headteacher of Hraunvallaskóli, presented the school's curriculum.

      Lögð fram drög að samkomulagi milli skólastjóra Hraunvallaskóla, deildarstjóra æskulýðsmála og forstöðumanns Mosans um ‘Tilraunaverfefni um samstarf félagsmiðstöðvar og heilsdagsskóla (Hraunsel) Hraunvallaskóla.’%0DSkólastjóri Hraunvallaskóla skýrði verkefnið frekar á fundinum.

      Lögð fram drög að samkomulagi milli fræðslusviðs og foreldrafélags Barnaskóla Hjallastefnunnar. Samkomulagið staðfestist af Hjallastefnunni ehf. %0D

      Sara Dögg Jónsdóttir, the head teacher, and Gestur Gestsson, the parents' representative, attended the meeting.

      The Education Committee confirms the agreement for its part, subject to receiving a licence to operate from the Ministry of Education.
      A request was made by the representative of the VG party that the matter be referred to the town council for discussion and decision, in reference to article 7 of the Hafnarfjörður Education Committee's terms of reference.  The Education Committee approves the attached agreement, with four votes in favour and one against from the VG party, and also approves the request for the matter to be referred to the Town Council for final decision. The representative of the VG party reiterates their minutes from the last meeting of the Education Committee on 11th May.

      The Education Department and the Education Council consider that this is not a case of conventional home tuition and refer the matter to the Headteacher of Víðistaðaskóli for resolution regarding distance learning.tion and exemption from compulsory attendance.

    Lagðar fram tilkynningar frá Sambandi íslenskra sveitarfélaga um styrkveitingar til Skólaskrifstofu Hafnarfjarðar úr Endurmenntunarsjóði grunnskóla.%0DVeittir voru styrkir til sex verkefna af sjö sem sótt var um, alls 1.995.000 krónur. Lagt fram yfirlitsblað yfir umsóknir og styrkveitingar í ár ásamt úthlutunum til Skólaskrifstofu Hafnarfjarðar árin 2000-2009.

  • 0904177 – Leisure and recreation offers in August

    Sbr. lið 5 í fundargerð fræðsluráðs frá 27. apríl sl. þar sem kynnt var hugmynd að úrræði fyrir útskrifarárgang leikskólabarna frá því sumarlokun leikskólanna lýkur þar til grunnskólinn hefst. %0DLagt fram minnisblað sviðsstjóra dags. 22. maí 2009.

    The proposal was met with a positive response from the heads of nursery and primary schools.  The Education Committee approves the existing sports and leisure activities on offer in August for those children who will be starting primary school in Hafnarfjörður next autumn. The oldest year group of the nursery school will therefore graduate from the nursery at the start of the summer holidays.

  • 0905159 – Hjalli Nursery School - playground improvements

    A letter dated 8 May 2009 from the chair of the parents' association of Hjalli nursery school regarding urgent improvements to the nursery's grounds was presented.

    Meetings have been held with representatives of parents and the nursery school's management.  At the meeting, a maintenance plan was presented from the Hafnarfjörður Property Society regarding improvements to the grounds for the summer.

    Observers for the nursery school left the meeting at 10:15.
    Gestur Svavarsson left the meeting at 10:25.

    Proposals from the education department for the awarding of 2009 educational council awards presented.

  • 0905166 – Hafnarfjörður Music School

    Lögð fram útfærsla skólastjórnenda TH að hagræðingu í fjárhagsáætlun skólans árið 2009 sem meðal annars felur í sér breytingu á gjaldskrá.%0DÁ fundinum var lagður fram samanburður á skólagjöldum í tónlistarskólum ýmissa sveitarfélaga.%0D

    Gunnar Gunnarsson, Headteacher, and Helgi Bragason, Deputy Headteacher of TH, attended the meeting and reviewed the situation, and they are thanked for this.
    Proposal for a fee increase at the school referred to the budget review.
