      Proposed teaching allocation:
      Teaching allocation – general teaching

      Assignments will be made based on the number of classes according to the following criteria:
      Quantitative criteria:
      1. – 4th grade 22 students
      5th. -10th grade 28 students
      Teaching hour criteria:
      1st – 4th grade 30 weekly hours per class + cover lessons and
      1 weekly hour per student over 18 in the class.
      Years 5–7: 35 hours per week per class + cover lessons and 1 hour per week per pupil over 23 in a class.
      Years 8–10 37 hours per class group + teaching hours and
      1 hour per pupil over 25 in a class.
      The Director's proposal for teaching hour guidelines was unanimously approved.
      Proposal for management criteria:

      Guidelines for management in primary school

      Basic criteria for management in addition to the headteacher:
      A deputy headteacher and two department heads in a comprehensive school.
      This refers to department heads for year groups (Years 1–4, 5th–7th grade and 8th–10th grade) with a teaching commitment in accordance with the collective agreement between the Salary Commission and the Teachers“ Union (KÍ). The Deputy Head of School shall manage the administration for one of the stages.If the headteacher feels they require more or different management, they shall send a reasoned request to the director of the department.

      The Education Committee approves the director's proposal and also that guidelines be drawn up for the processing of headteachers“ applications for additional management.

  • 0701391 – Equal opportunities education in schools, a joint project of the Fjarðabyggir municipality, Kópavogur municipality, Akureyri municipality, the Equal Opportunities Institute, the Ministry of Social Affairs and the City of Reykjavík.

    Formaður ræddi lokakeppni Stóru upplestrarkeppninnar sem fram fór í Hafnarborg sl. þriðjudag.%0D

    Ingibjörg Einarsdóttir, Office Manager of the School Office and the main organiser of the competition in Hafnarfjörður, attended the meeting.  The Chairman expressed great satisfaction with the competition and, on behalf of the Education Committee, wishes to thank those responsible for the competition for an outstanding event.;

    The parent representative for nursery school children left the meeting at 9:45.Guðni Kjartansson left the meeting at 10:30.The Chair proposed that the Director be tasked with discussing the situation with the board of the Hafnarfjörður Primary School Teachers' Association, and the council approved this.The observer for the primary school teachers left the meeting at 10:40.The Education Committee agrees that the proposals regarding schooling in the North Town will be sent to the parent councils of Víðistaðaskóli and Engidalsskóli for consideration.Other observers left the meeting at 10:45.

    A letter from the headmaster of Flensborg School was presented, applying for a grant of 50,000 kr. for the primary school mathematics competition.

    The Education Council agrees to grant the requested grant.;
