The Planning and Building Officer approves the development permit subject to the following conditions:$line$With regard to registered cultural heritage sites in the area, consultation shall be held with the National Monuments Authority on the implementation of the project and on all site management in accordance with the National Monuments Act No. 107/2001. Regarding natural monuments in the area and its vicinity, consultation shall be held with the Environmental Agency during the implementation of the works and concerning all activities in the area in accordance with the Nature Conservation Act no. 49/1999.During the works, special care must be taken with regard to archaeological remains and natural features. The work shall be carried out under the supervision of an archaeologist appointed by the City of Hafnarfjörður and an environmental officer for the City of Hafnarfjörður. Before the works commence, the City of Hafnarfjörður shall apply for a research permit from the National Monuments Authority for any archaeological remains that are threatened by the works.

At the service meeting on 23 June, a sign at Fjörð was approved. During installation it became clear that a tree is obstructing the sign, and it is requested that it be moved south so that it can be positioned more effectively at this location. See attached photos.

1110128 – Gjótuhraun 5, fire safety inspection
Iðnmark ehf, Gjótuhrauni 5. During a fire safety inspection on 01.12.10 at the above-mentioned property, it was found that the fire safety measures are defective.The breach is considered significant and the Capital Region Fire and Rescue Service gave a deadline of 08.03.11 for remedial action. A letter was received on 1.11.2011 from Iðnmark ehf. stating that the recommendations have been addressed.
Confirmation has been received that the necessary improvements have been made, and the matter is now considered closed.

1110302 – Plot for a H.S. Veitna hf. distribution station at the junction with Straumsvík
A request has been received from HS Veitur dated 05.10.11 to remove a pole substation at the Alcan site and, in its place, install a small distribution substation on a site provided by Alcan. A positive opinion from the Road Administration is available.
The Planning and Building Officer has no objection to the application.

1111012 – Óseyrarbraut 17, Enquiry, extension
The Eskja Cooperative is submitting an enquiry on 01.11.11 to extend the building on Óseyrarbraut by approximately 300 sq m. See attached documents.
The Planning and Building Officer is negative towards the application as it stands and points out that the proposed extension requires an amendment to the detailed plan. An extension within the building envelope would be favourably received; see attached notes.
