Gisli the Son of Saur

We are heading to the Westfjords on the day of the Icelandic language, and invite passers-by to a play performance by the Comedy Theatre.

The award-winning play Gísli Súrsson is one of the nation's most-performed plays, having been staged more than 350 times, both at home and abroad. The play tells the story of the fate of Gísli Súrsson and his family, who take up land in Haukadal in Dýrafjörður. At first, everything goes well for them and they soon become the greatest of chiefs. But the tide soon turns, and before long they are falling foul of one another. This ultimately ends with Gísli being exiled.

The show starts at 19:30 and the venue will then be closed. Admission is free and entry is on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached.
