The NÚ Primary School – Forward-thinking education is making its mark on the esports scene in the country. The school is entering its second year with an esports programme. The initiative is a first for a primary school, and it is pleasing to see e-sports growing and flourishing. NÚ places great emphasis on helping children and young people to achieve their goals, both on the digital playground and in the real world.
E-sports Pathway NOW

NÚ places great emphasis on helping children and young people to achieve their goals, both on the digital playground and in the real world.
Esports training NOW
NÚ also offers general e-sports training for children and teenagers. The esports activities that previously fell under the Hugaríþróttadeild Hauka will now be run by NÚ. Numerous courses are on offer this winter for the 8-18 age group, and information about the courses can be found on Sportabler under 'esports'. The training sessions are held under the guidance of coaches who all share a wealth of experience with a variety of games, as well as previous experience coaching children and young people in esports. The division's head coach is Arnar Hólm Einarsson, Education Director of the Esports Association of Iceland and supervisor of the NÚ esports pathway.
Competitive teams in Overwatch and Counter Strike: Global Offensive
This winter, NÚ will field competitive teams (senior division) in the games Overwatch and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, competing in the top divisions for these titles. It will be exciting to follow the work at NÚ, and we welcome new options to the range of sports activities in Hafnarfjörður. NÚ's sports activities take place at the school's premises at Reykjavíkurbraut 50.
