Oddfríður Jónsdóttir, better known as Odda in Arnarberg, is leaving her workplace, the City of Hafnarfjörður, after a 42-year career dedicated to nursery education.

Positivity, foresight and a solution-oriented mindset

Odda graduated as a nursery nurse from the Fósturskóli Íslands and began working for the City of Hafnarfjörður in 1980 at the Arnarberg nursery school, which she has managed with exceptional drive and professionalism for many years. During this time, nursery education has undergone significant changes, which Odda has met with positivity, foresight and a solution-oriented mindset. She has supported and encouraged the staff to develop professionally and to pursue further education in order to grow in their roles and further enhance the nursery's work.

Odda has been involved in many projects over the years aimed at developing and strengthening nursery school work, and Arnarberg is a leading school in a literacy-promoting environment. Odda has always been keen to pursue further and continuing education, completing both a diploma in special education and in management at the University of Iceland. Hafnarfjörður bids Odda a fond farewell and thanks her for the powerful work she has led at the Arnarberg nursery school and for the professional vision she leaves behind. There are undoubtedly many children of all ages who know Odda, her work, and her cheerful and kind presence.
