Sunday, 19 February at 3 p.m. will Othoniel Muñiz, an artist, will be with Guidance in Spanish About the exhibition Joking, where a selection of works by the artist Sóley Eiríksdóttir (1957-1994) can be seen: sculptures, ceramics and two-dimensional works.

At the beginning of her career, Sóley worked mainly on traditional pottery, which can be considered utilitarian art, but in the latter half of the 1980s, drawings and imagery that had previously adorned the artist's vases and bowls took on a life of their own in larger, three-dimensional works made of concrete.

Othoniel Muñiz He is a Mexican artist who has been based in Iceland since 2017. He studied fine art at La Esmeralda in Mexico City, with a stay in Iceland as an exchange student at the Iceland Academy of the Arts.

In My Language is a programme of events that aims to increase access to Hafnarborg for people from diverse backgrounds by welcoming visitors in different languages. The event is a collaboration between Hafnarborg and the charity Get Together, which supports refugees and asylum seekers in Hafnarfjörður. The project is supported by the museum fund.

In my language – a guided tour in Spanish of the exhibition Gletta

On Sunday, 19 February at 3:00 p.m., the artist Othoniel Muñiz will take the guests on a guided tour of the exhibition in Spanish Joke (Good morning), presenting works by the artist Sóley Eiríksdóttir (1957-1994): sculptures, ceramics and two-dimensional works.

At the beginning of her career, Sóley devoted herself mainly to traditional ceramics, often categorised as practical objects, but in the late 1980s, the artist's images, which had previously served to decorate pots and bowls, took on a life of their own in large, three-dimensional works made of concrete.

Othoniel Muñiz He is a Mexican artist who has lived in Iceland since 2017. He graduated from La Esmeralda in Mexico City and studied as an exchange student at the Iceland Academy of the Arts.

But in my language It is an events programme focused on making Hafnarborg more accessible to people from different backgrounds by welcoming visitors to the museum in several languages. The programme is a collaboration between Hafnarborg and the aid agency Get Together, which provides support to asylum seekers and refugees in Hafnarfjörður.
