In the summer of 2023, all young people aged 14–17 (born 2006–2009) will be offered a job with the Hafnarfjörður Work School. The Work School primarily focuses on environmental matters, thus playing a major role in cleaning the town and maintaining its vegetation, streets and footpaths over the summer.

The staff of the Work School play a vital role in creating the town's attractive appearance, ensuring it is clean and tidy, and not least, pleasant for residents and the increasing number of tourists who visit. The young people will start work on Monday, 12th June.
Application for a job at the Hafnarfjörður Work Camp
Applicants and guardians are asked to familiarise themselves with the arrangements and rules of the Work Club, among other things, before completing an application. Applications will remain open throughout May and June, with the possibility of securing a position in the general groups. The Work School's office is located in the Menntasetrið við Lækinn at Skólabraut 3. The office is open from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Thursday, and from 8 am to 2 pm on Fridays.
