The music and town festival, Heart of Hafnarfjörður, begins at the Bæjarbíó this week. The Icelandic crooner, Björgvin Halldórsson, will open the festival with a concert on Thursday evening, while the Heart of Hafnarfjörður outdoor area will open at 5 p.m. that day for visitors and passers-by.

The festival is being held for the seventh year in a row, and has grown and flourished with each passing year, becoming one of the largest and longest-running music festivals in the country. The Icelandic crooner, Björgvin Halldórsson, will open the festival with a concert on Thursday evening, while at 5 p.m. on the same day, the Heart of Hafnarfjörður outdoor area will open to visitors. Björgvin has been an indispensable part of the Heart of Hafnarfjörður festival from the very beginning and is the only artist to have taken part every time.
