At its meeting on 14 September 2023, the Hafnarfjörður Town Council resolved to advertise a planning statement for an amendment to the Hafnarfjörður 2013-2025 Master Plan, in accordance with section 1 of Article 43 of the Planning Act. The proposal provides for the expansion of the I4 industrial area into an undeveloped area to the east, due to the enlargement of the Álhellu 1 plot. The consultation period is until 17.10.23 and the planning statement can be accessed on the planning portal website. The Planning Portal (skipulagsgatt.is).  Comments or suggestions should be submitted electronically via the planning portal, to the email address skipulag@hafnarfjordur.is or in writing to:
