The exhibition My Book of Secrets features photographic works in which the creators seek to show how the medium becomes a platform for self-processing, where the artist encounters, examines and redefines the self.

A special exhibition opening will be held on Thursday, 5th October from 18:00-20:00, and all are welcome!

„In recent years, I have been using photography as a medium for my creative work. I often use myself as a sort of guinea pig, or create a character, to explore an idea that comes to me. My work is a way of interpreting the idea I have of myself and the world I live in. Each image is both an extension of the past—where I come from and what I have learnt—and a glimpse of the future I am heading towards. My main artistic influences are Cindy Sherman, Tim Walker, Anja Niemi, Yasumasa Morimura and Uldus Bakthiozina.“

The title My Book of Secrets refers to books that women kept in the 16th century, which contained various recipes and women's instructions. The exhibition thus refers to „the secret“, or that which could not be openly discussed. My Book of Secrets: Part I is an exhibition of works that shows the beginning of the artist's creative process and how she has explored this field, starting from character creation shaped by internal and external factors.

„For the last few years, I have been exploring photography as an artistic platform. I frequently use myself as a prop and create characters as a way to recreate thought processes. My works are my platform to interpret the notion I have of myself and the world I exist in. Each photograph is at the same time an extension of the past, the things that shape me and what I have learned, as well as a glimpse into the future I am heading towards. The main artistic influences on my work derive from Cindy Sherman, Tim Walker, Anja Niemi, Yasumasa Morimura and Uldus Bakthiozina.“

The title, My Book of Secrets, refers to books kept by women in the 16th century, which contained various recipes and women's guides. By this, the exhibition alludes to “the secret” as a hidden part of a woman's life, something that could not be discussed openly. The exhibition My Book of Secrets: Part I shows the artist's first steps within the platform, with a focus on character creation, shaped by inner and outer factors.
