Half-term holiday 23rd and 24th October

Swimming, cinema, badminton, a treasure hunt and more fun activities!

There will be a winter holiday in primary schools and the Hafnarfjörður Music School on Monday 23 October and Tuesday 24 October. On that occasion, among other things. Free swimming for children and adults for these two days at Ásvallalaug, Suðurbæjarlaug and Sundhöll Hafnarfjarðar.

Primary school children are welcome at Hafnarfjörður Library during the winter break, which will include a cosy bivouac, a treasure hunt and workshops. Hafnarfjörður Museum of Local History will have a special opening at the Packhouse during the winter holidays, and you will be able to take part in a fun and educational family treasure hunt that guides visitors around the museum.

Monday 23 October

• • FREE SWIMMING from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Ásvallalaug and Suðurbæjarlaug, and at the Swimming Hall until 9 p.m.
  • A treasure hunt for the children and interesting exhibitions at the Hafnarfjörður Museum of Local History. Open 11-15.
  • Hafnarfjörður Library:

    • We're setting up a cosy cinema in the multipurpose hall – 12:00 – 14:00. Blankets, beanbags and cushions – get cosy! Come to the cinema at Hafnarfjörður Library!

      Workshop in the children's section – let's make our own book covers! – 13:00 – 15:00

      Do you want to write a book? Or perhaps illustrate one? We're making book covers together on the children's section!

      A Harry Potter treasure hunt is taking place around the library all day.

Tuesday, 24 October

On the 23rd and 24th of October, there is a winter holiday in all schools in Hafnarfjörður. Hafnarfjörður Badminton Club Offers children, teenagers and parents who are in town for the winter holidays to come and play badminton and table tennis at the sports hall on Strandgata these days.

Open sessions for registered BH members and their parents will be held on Monday 23rd October and Tuesday 24th October from 10:00 to 12:00. Also, the usual training sessions according to the afternoon timetable will take place for registered members on both of these days.

Drop-in sessions for children and parents who are not registered with the club will be held on Monday 23rd October and Tuesday 24th October from 13:00-15:00. Booking is essential as places are limited, but entry is free of charge.

The BH coaches will be on site both days and will give everyone a warm welcome. Spades and balls will be available to borrow for those who need them.
