In the exhibition, the artist explores the blurred boundaries of the distant; where our dreams dwell, a world of adventure, expectation and hope, and of that which is lost to us, and then of the near; the space we inhabit, the home, life in the garden, life in the fish tank in the living room, the earth beneath our feet. From photographs the artist took of her immediate surroundings, she creates dreamlike collages that express a longing for the distant, for that which cannot be touched, and perhaps it is precisely in this fusion of the near and the distant that the artist finds intimacy.

Nánd in Icelandic can mean nearness, intimacy or vicinity. In the exhibition, the artist explores the blurred line between the distant—where our dreams dwell, the world of fairy tales, desires and hopes, and that which is gone—and that which is near: the space we inhabit, our home, life in the garden, the life in the fish tank in the living room, the earth beneath our feet. From photographs the artist took of her surroundings, she created dreamlike collages that express the desire for the distant, that which cannot be touched, and perhaps it is in this collage of the near and the distant that the artist finds intimacy.
