The Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum always takes an active part in the Advent atmosphere in the town centre of Hafnarfjörður, as it is in the best location in the Christmas town. As is tradition, the windows of Beggubúð, located in the courtyard behind the Packhouse, are decorated with Christmas lights and other items from days gone by, where visitors and passers-by can enjoy a cosy trip down memory lane.

The museum's popular and long-standing Christmas programme for nursery school children is back, where they will meet the one and only Father Christmas.
The themed exhibition 'Hafnarfjörður Police, Hardy Men and Bold' is on display at the Packhouse, and in addition, the new initiative of offering a mobile mini-Christmas exhibition has been launched this year. a mobile micro-Christmas exhibition, a display case on wheels featuring the spirit and symbols of Christmas, which is located in the Fjörður shopping centre during its opening hours. The museum's exhibitions in its buildings at 6 Vesturgata are open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm every Advent weekend. Admission is, of course, free, just as it is all year round.
