Thursday, 28 December at 3 p.m., between Christmas and New Year, will Sol Hansdóttir, fashion designer and one of the participants in the Hafnarborg autumn exhibition, A landscape for the chosen, perform an action in connection with their work at the exhibition, The Egg: A Series of Studies on the Nature of Existence.

The performance tackles the question of the chicken and the egg and the concept of cause, origin, and eternal recurrence, as reflected in this age-old paradox. The boundaries of reality are then explored by staging three parallel yet distinct realities. In this way, the prevailing reality is questioned, having to compete with disruptions from the parallel realities for the audience's attention.

These different realities are also connected to the discourse on anthropomorphism and the question of which reality is the dominant one. Our attention is therefore drawn to the fact that we humans are only a part of a larger, interacting systems, whilst being invited to redefine our existence and sharpen our own perspective in relation to other phenomena – whether they be human or non-human beings, the technological world, or diverse ecosystems.

Sol Hansdóttir Born in 1994, they graduated with an MA in Fashion Design from Central Saint Martins in London in 2021. She often upcycles materials she finds around her, giving them new life in garments designed with simplicity and intuition as her guiding principles. Her graduation project, Three theories of evil, received the L'Oréal Professionnel creative award and laid the foundation for her unique design process. Her designs have been shown, among other places, at London Fashion Week and in the Gerðarsafn in Kópavogur.
