Hafnarborg invites primary school children on their winter break to come and take part in fun and creative art workshops at the museum on 22nd and 23rd February. Each workshop will have its own theme, so you are welcome to take part on one or both days.

Multilingual collage workshop
Thursday, 22 February, 1 pm - 3 pm
Artists Lukas Bury and Unnur Mjöll Leifsdóttir will lead a workshop where colourful paper collages will be created. In the workshop, participants will get to discover the magical world of colours and shapes. Participants can view the museum's exhibitions to find inspiration for their own artwork. The workshop leaders speak Icelandic, English and Polish.

Clay, creation and shaping
Friday 23 February, 1 pm–3 pm
Designer Þóra Breiðfjörð will be holding a workshop where clay will be used in a creative way. Inspiration will be drawn from the exhibition of Jónína Guðnadóttir, Fluxus, which is currently taking place at the museum. Participants receive earthenware clay in three different colours, get to familiarise themselves with the material and experiment with shaping the clay. The artworks created by visitors will then be fired in a kiln and can be collected later from the reception desk at Hafnarborg.

The workshops take place in the Pharmacy on the first floor of the museum, and children are advised to be accompanied by an adult. As usual, participation in the art workshops is free of charge for visitors, as is admission to the museum's exhibitions. You are very welcome.
