The Viking Festival in Hafnarfjörður takes place in Víðistaðatún from 13th-18th June and is free to attend. Over 150 Vikings will make their way to Hafnarfjörður from both within and outside the country.

The programme is varied and there is plenty going on, including: a combat demonstration, a crafts exhibition, Viking games, blacksmithing, herbal dyeing, a Viking school for children, various stalls, archery competitions, food & drink. The performance artist Björke returns after a long absence, and the bands Krauka and Hrafnboði will be playing for guests throughout the day. Krauka will be playing for a dance on Friday and Saturday evening.

You will be able to try both archery and axe-throwing for a small fee; all proceeds will go directly to the Viking Festival in Hafnarfjörður. Rimmugýgur welcomes you to the 27th festival they are holding in Hafnarfjörður.
