All sorts of gems at the Christmas market in the Icehouse at Ægi 220
The Icehouse Christmas Market at Ægi 220 will be held twice this Christmas, on Sunday, 24th November and on the evening of Thursday, 5th December.
The Christmas Market at the Icehouse in Ægi 220
„All sorts,“ says Tindur Lilja H. Péturs, the cartoonist, when asked what will be at the Christmas market at the Icehouse in issue 220 of Ægi, which will be held twice: on Sunday, 24th November, and on the evening of Thursday, 5th December.
„Ceramics, ornaments, candle holders and mugs. Christmas decorations, paintings, drawings, and other graphic works, as well as textiles and jewellery,“ says they. „Then there will be Pláneta, a company that makes and sells sensory toys for children, on site.“
Tindur Lilja has worked at the Hafnarfjörður Icehouse for three years with her husband, Sigurður Breiðfjörð Þorgeirsson. They are taking part in the Icehouse and Ægi 220 Christmas market.
„We will have gift tags, Christmas cards, stickers and badges. Also copies of our books, including my first children's book, Teddy Bear is going out to play. It is available signed, as well as Simma's new young adult horror novel., Treat Day,“ says Tindur Lilja.
Dozens of individuals and companies are based in the Icehouse in Hafnarfjörður. It is a melting pot of design and innovation.
„The Icehouse is a workspace with a soul,“ says Tindur Lilja. „It's a haven, a vantage point that gives us the freedom to work. The building's appearance adds to the charm, just like the rest of the harbour area.“

At the back of the old Icehouse Freezer at the small boat harbour is the Ægir 220 banquet and event hall.
